Builders and end users represent the demand that gives the network real utility. Builders integrate Livepeer capabilities into products, and end users consume those experiences.

Builder Responsibilities

  • Integrate gateway-facing APIs into applications
  • Define workload requirements (latency, quality, cost)
  • Operate product-level reliability and monitoring
  • Iterate on product features based on network capabilities

End-User Expectations

End users typically care about outcomes, not network internals:
  • Fast response and smooth playback/generation
  • Consistent quality
  • Reliable availability
  • Predictable product behavior

Why This Role Matters

Without sustained demand from builders and users, network supply and protocol incentives have no durable economic purpose. Demand-side adoption is the driver that converts infrastructure into a functioning marketplace.
